You have spelt out perfectly what much alleged law and order actually is, but at times Police do have their hands tied by the so called laws regarding mental health. Today there was another call for a drastic shake up of rules but you know it will not happen. I believe we are still caught up in Virginia Bottomley`s infamous "care in the community" debacle of the 1980`s. I used to deliver mail to a local psychiatric hospital and have seen a few times around six or eight big coppers go in to sort a problem. But the prospect of facing a hostile judge or magistrate, whilst a smirking "victim" has a battery of social workers crying for them, puts me off doing anything. It is a no-win situation because he who retaliates is the villain of the peace. In my job, thankfully I have had little abuse but the worst is from smart arse kids showing off to their friends and I just ignore it. You have to because I do not believe our firm -RM - would support you. Anyway, nice to see you back and keep reading, respectfully DarylWolfieWiseGuyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04934133619872861691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8040803619606171036.post-79386811264118095232014-11-12T03:51:08.340-08:002014-11-12T03:51:08.340-08:00Hi Pal,

I had a run in with someone from a known crackpot family who have a reputation of going into mental health units. This particular person is pretty much at liberty to commit extreme acts of violence and is a bully even at the age of 46 or so. The problem which irks me, is that if I did anything or retaliated, the police and the CPS would witout hesitation come down on me like a ton of bricks, however, due to this person’s history of attendance at mental health facilities, if me and him engaged in an altercation he would simply be sectioned off for a short while and released back into the community. It’s a trick that the whole family have learnt and they seem to know how to work the system to their benefit. The police are basically traffic wardens with no real interest in reducing crimes unless there’s a soft target for them, and in essence my view is that unless you retaliate with full force, then anything short of that is leaving you open to a stretch inside and a dismantling of your life once you come out, along with the prospect of doing it all over again.
All the best.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02643410023232737452noreply@blogger.com
