You are right, there is too much romanticised crap and looking through rose tinted glasses. Courtney is the biggest bullshit merchant going, reduced to squirting water from a large water pistol from the back of a car at oaps. How brave! Bernard O`Mahoney offered Courtney £25,000 to prove he was "acquitted of murder" but constantly ducked the challenge. You read some articles in newspapers and wonder how people were never charged with offences. One local incident had a guy standing up in court and openly admitting two serious firearm offences, for which, bizarrely, he was NOT facing charges. Another incident was a drunken woman smashing up the car of an old man, who was arrested by Police, whilst they blatantly turned a blind eye to what she had done. Next day, they brought him back home and told him, that because this woman was related to two families of troublemakers, he should pack his bags and leave town. I was there when this happened. Unbelievable. It says loud & clear that anybody and anything to do with these two families, are off limits. In simple terms, one must be a registered informer. I have a huge library of true crime books, including criminals memoirs, but it is something I have no more interest in. I like to spot murder cases, historical crimes, and the like. Newest books by Cummins & Tippett - not interested. Thanks again for your comments, a breath of fresh air. I think all in all a large number of so called ‘Top Chaps’ are indeed friendly with the law, some in my view do share sensitive and incriminating information with their contacts within the Police force and vice-versa. From the days even before the likes of Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky, men who made no bones about what happens to ‘grasses’ or ‘rats’ as they would probably be referred to back then, to the days of the contemporary criminal, a huge myth has been built around this code of not associating with the law. This in my view is utter bollocks, only the gullible who read ‘true-crime’ books and believe everything that these ‘chaps’ tell us, who by the very nature are liars and con-men have a romantic vision of this ‘code of honour’. Although I do feel that men like Frankie Fraser who is noted for his contempt of grasses maybe an exception, but these are few and far between. KN and his links to the Freemasons sums up the very nature of the man. Also Mr Courtney who claims to be a bank-robber amongst his other accomplishments has never really outlined in detail which ‘jobs’ he’s undertaken, where he spent his time, and who with. In fact I have never actually seen any evidence from the Police to back up his statements of murder, extortion, protection etc, he’s more of a bouncer type of fellow than a career criminal who controls a cartel unlike a figure such as Mr Warren who is widely respected for his business acumen in the narcotics industry. There’s a huge difference being on remand for something and actually doing porridge like a 10-15 stretch and keeping your mouth firmly locked.
